Road accidents up in Coventry due to ice

The recent spate of cold and icy weather has meant the ambulance services in Coventry have been kept busy due to an increase in road traffic accidents.

Accidents included a road accident on the A46 which involved a crash between a car and a lorry where the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance has flown out.

The local ambulance services usually have to deal with around 20 road accidents on a typical Saturday, but due to the bad weather, this rose to 35.

The cold weather is set to continue around Coventry in the near future, making driving conditions extremely difficult.
