Family of boy involved in car accident seek compensation

According to a newspaper report, the family of Troy Brooks who was knocked down by a car outside his school are seeking personal injury compensation.

The accident occurred in 2005, when Troy was 11 outside Blackfield junior School, where we was struck by a car as he crossed the road to get to his class.

Sophie Lennards was driving the blue Peugeot 306 that hitTroy, but was not charged with any criminal offence. But the family are now seeking over £300,000 in damages after Troy was left in a coma for 10 days and suffered bleeding on the brain.

Troy now has had to learn to walk again and suffers from mood swings and short term memory loss.

The family and their legal team are said to be claiming Miss Lennards was driving too fast and failed to avoid the accident. The compensation is said to help withTroy’s care and counselling.
