Toyota apologises for accidents
People had been injured in accidents when travelling at high speed and then noticed the accelerator problems.
The CEO of Toyota, Mr. Akio Toyoda explained "I am deeply sorry for any accidents that Toyota drivers have experienced." The apology came after rising concerns of the vehicles problems and their customers' safety. He went on to say that "Toyota has been expanding its business rapidly. Quite frankly, I fear the pace at which we have grown may have been too quick."
This will prove to be little comfort for those that will be looking to make a compensation claim for a road traffic accident they have been involved in.
Toyota will now recall the cars with the problem which will see 2.3 million recalled across the US alone, and hire vehicles will be used as substitutes for their customers until the problem is dealt with.
